News and Activities

2008 CADXA DX Competition

In 2008, CADXA offers another Band-Entities Competition but with several significant changes from last years event.

1. This year it will be for the entire 2008 calendar year, not just Mar-Dec like in 2007
2. Plaques will similarly be awarded to the Power class winners PLUS Certificates to the highest scorer on each Band/category.

Work the highest band-countries (ok band-entities for you purists) between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008 and you will win a nice plaque and be the envy of all!

Three plaques will be awarded:
QRP (5w or less output)
Low Power (between 5 and 100w)
High Power (over 100w up to 1500w)

Certificates

For you “band specialists”, certificates will be awarded to the highest scorer on each band in each Power class above. To spread around the wealth, the plaque winners will not be eligible for a band certificate. That allows everyone to get in on this event and compete.

All HF bands are in play in this one. 1.8 thru 30 MHz.

Contest QSO's ARE encouraged as this gets the club some needed contest points as well! We are all about points, ya know. ;-)

Entries are due to me bobk8ia@aol.com by January 15, 2009. I prefer an ADIF file for the 2008 calendar year, but will accept most any form, spreadsheet, document that is organized.

Honor system prevails folks. We’re just competing for paper and wood, not gold.

CADXA Contest Coordinator

The Central Arizona DX Association, an ARRL-affiliated club, is a group of ham radio operators in the Phoenix area whose primary interest is in DXing. The club has been in existence for over 25 years and our members are very active in DXing, contesting and DXpeditions. Many of our members are well known DXers and our club has sponsored a number of well-known DXpeditions over the years.
